I am Monica Gupta from the state of Haryana in India.
By way of nature, I am a Social Worker, Writing is my Passion and Profession is Journalism.
As a Social Worker… I am looking after the activities as President of “Jai Swachhta Samiti” an NGO for Rural Development and also working as Hony. Secretary of “DOST” – Doorstep Organization to Search Talent – an NGO engaged in Talent search and Promotion. This way, I spend most of my time for total personal development of children & women empowerment especially in rural areas.
As a writer… I have written hundreds of articles on social issues & short stories for children which have been widely published in National Dailies and Magazines of repute. I have also been working on writing books for the last 3-4 years and four books out of these have already been published.
One book written for children “Main Hoon Mani” was Awarded “Bal Sahitaya Puruskar” by “Hindi Sahitaya Academy” in the year 2009.so far and one of them is for children which has been awarded ‘Bal sahitaya Puraskar” by Haryana Sahitaya Academy in 2009. An other book based on Social Issues “Samay Hi Nahi Milta” got 1st prize & was selected for “Grant for Publication” again by “Haryana Sahitaya Academy”.
Besides, I have also been writing for children and on various social issues from time to time which have been broadcast on All India Radio (Akashvani) Jaipur, Rohtak and Hisar
As a Journalist… I am working for an international news channel and covering the area in and around District Sirsa in Haryana.
Through this Blog, I wish to share my experiences in all of the above fields and would like you to share your views also.
